If you're a Train Ticket Inspector (TTI)/Chief Ticket Inspector(CTI) in Indian Railways, you’ll be asked to fill out your Annual Performance Appraisal Report (APAR) through the HRMS portal. For many of us, writing about our own work is tough — especially when we don’t know the exact words.

๐ First, What is Self-Appraisal in APAR?
Self-Appraisal is the part where you describe your duties, responsibilities, and achievements during the appraisal period. It helps your reporting officer and reviewing officer understand your work better.
๐งพ How to Write Self-Appraisal Based on Your Duty Type
✅ 1. If You Are Posted on Stationary Duty (CTI/TTI at a Particular Station)
✍️ Sample Description to Copy:
I have been performing stationary duty at [Station Name] as per roster. My duties included ticket checking, guiding passengers, assisting the public with reservation queries, and ensuring discipline on platforms.
I have handled my responsibilities sincerely, maintained punctuality, and helped detect cases of ticketless/irregular travel. I followed safety norms and provided assistance during peak hours and special trains.

✅ 2. If You Are Posted in Amenities Duty
✍️ Sample Description to Copy:
I have been posted in amenities duty during the appraisal period. My work involved regularly checking coaches at the station, reporting deficiencies in cleanliness, lights, fans, water, etc., and ensuring passenger amenities were maintained.
I coordinated with the Cleaning Contractor, Commercial Staff, and Train Superintendent to ensure proper services were provided to passengers. I performed all duties diligently and ensured passenger satisfaction.
✅ 3. If You Are Working in Squad Checking (CTI/TI in Mobile Teams)
✍️ Sample Description to Copy:
I worked in squad checking duty, moving across trains in teams to check irregular and without-ticket passengers. As Squad IC/member, I ensured proper recovery of fare and penalties, followed all checking guidelines, and worked in coordination with the team.
I performed night duties, festival trains, and surprise checks sincerely and without any complaint. My earnings contribution was as per the administrative target and I maintained discipline, safety, and public courtesy during operations.

Keep your sentences short and clear.
Always mention that you did your work with sincerity, punctuality, and without complaint.
If possible, mention any appreciation or higher earnings you achieved.
Do not copy others’ appraisals word for word — personalize yours slightly.

Apart from my main duties, I was assigned [Reservation/Enquiry/SS-Comm] duty temporarily. I handled public interaction, helped resolve complaints, and ensured smooth operations at the station with full cooperation.
